Role: JAVA/J2EE/Websphere Application Migration Engineer

Location : Eagan MN

Duration : 12 months +

Rate : DOE (Please be competitive)

We are looking for Developer type folks, JAVA expertise with all the J2EE Arch, Websphere development, Migration experience from Solaris to Linux, etc.

**DO NOT NEED WEBSPHERE ADMINISTRATORS**

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The duties that will be regularly performed by the J2EE/WebSphere Engineer will include, but are not limited to the following:

? Assessment of Existing WebSphere App/Web Tiers on Solaris

? Implementation of WebSphere App/Web tiers on Suse Linux

? Assessment and recommendation for Scalability, Performance and Availability of WebSphere stack in a Network Deployment

? Migration of WebSphere J2EE based application from Solaris to Linux

? Assess application migration impact due to change in J2EE, Servlet, EJB specs and the differences resulting from App Server version upgrade, and recommend migration paths.

? Resolve any issues with migrated J2EE applications.

? Some Hardware infrastructure expertise

? System documentation

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
This role is an extremely hands-on, as he/she will be the "go to" person for problem resolution.

? Minimum of 5-7 years experience with WebSphere App Server - in a business environment including design and development of J2EE based application.

? Experience with high availability WebSphere 5x, 6x deployments supporting custom application code and third party applications.

? Hands on experience with Rational Application Developer for WebSphere.

? Hands on experience with Servlets and EJB development, trouble shooting.

? Solid understanding of J2EE technologies (e.g., JNI, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, JAAS, etc.).

? Work experience with various frameworks like Spring, MVC, iBatis, Hibernate etc.

? Experience with Solaris and Linux (Suse preferred), Shell scripting.

? Development experience with Oracle Database 9i, 10g, (SQL, PL/SQL etc.).

? Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

? Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

? Ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely
