Sharepoint/ BUSINESS ANALYST - SF- CA - Shraepoint (MOSS 2007), Portals, Workflows experience required.

Location - SF- CA

Duration : 12 months +

This will be intranet focused projects. Prior experience with intranet, portal (process and technology), content management (and systems) is very much welcome. Sharepoint experience .

And of course samples of work up front will help make selection of candidates.

Details about the position are as follows:
- Have a sound working experience of Shraepoint (MOSS 2007), Portals, Workflows, Record and Document Management, BDC's, Excel Services
- Have a good working knowledge of SharePoint Designer (This is not a must, but my having it proved very useful for them)
- Excellent Analytical skills including writing BRD's, PRD's, PDD's etc, including Use Cases (This is a must as they trained a bunch of BA's on this and I think they will expect the new comer to know this)
- Excellent Interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects and being used to "wearing different hats"

JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Analysts play a central role in all phases of solution integration process and should possess a deep understanding of information management standards and best practices, particularly in areas of web site structures, content management systems, metadata, and lifecycle management. Key abilities include working collaboratively, exhibiting influence without direct control, with business and product owners, content strategies and technology leads both remote and on-site.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a key conduit with Program Managers, Content Strategists, Information Architects, User Interface Designers, Project Managers and various members of the end-user community

Work closely with Program Managers to define and document high-level business requirements

Facilitate working group discussions and write detailed business requirements, process flows and use cases:

- Document business requirements for content management and integration requirements to support the relevancy of content and how it is found

- Identify meta-data and taxonomy requirements based on content strategy governance principals

- Incorporate user experience research, usability, UI/design and brand standards

- Prepare State Diagrams and Sequence Diagrams (UML) in such case when the requirements detail migrating from one system to another

- Facilitate reviews and walkthroughs with all stakeholders and update as needed, and final sign-off agreed

- As necessary, prepare change control requests and make appropriate revisions to detailed business requirements and use cases

- Perform functional testing and provide any clarifications on detailed business requirements

- Provide weekly project status

REQUIREMENTS

Ideal candidate possesses a degree in information science, business administration or other applicable degree

3-5 years of relevant business analysis experience in preparing business requirements for web applications, use case diagram and use cases, business process modeling (BPM), data modeling and Unified Modeling Language (UML - State Diagrams and Sequence Diagrams)

Experience with enterprise information architecture, considering strategic information requirements and integrated content delivery desired

Knowledge of large web content publishing systems, with experience documenting publishing, approving and removing content process workflow

Knowledge of project life cycle for web applications using various methodologies such as iterations and agile/SCRUM

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to learn new products, systems, applications and technologies

Leadership and teamwork skills

Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

Creative and strong customer-oriented mindset

Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail

OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS

Product and or project management experience

Knowledge of web applications

Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA)

Knowledge of user interface design

Functional testing experience

Familiarity with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007) and BEA/Weblogic portal 8.2 and/or 10.x
