Position: SQL Database Developer with equities exp
Location: Midtown New York
Duration: 3+ Months

Position Description Responsibilities include:
- Supports the design and development of a flexible Risk management and reporting environment that focuses on integrating a wide range of financial products data sources (position, P&L, sensitivity and reference information) to reporting and analytical tools.
- Understands and captures data requirements and inherent business rules across various business systems and enterprise source databases and builds an Information Architecture to support the requirements.
- Designs, implements database query and stored procedure development standards.
- Responsible for conceptual, logical and physical data designs for new and ongoing projects.
- Supports the design and development of a wide range of batch ETL and real-time data processes.
- Understands how to design database systems that are optimized for performance.
- Develop strategies to improve Data Quality
- Hiring Criteria 7 Years+ experience with hands-on development of large scale Data Marts/databases that support financial and capital markets systems, e.g. risk management systems (Equity, FX, fixed income, credit), trading systems.
- Firm understanding of data modeling concepts and logical data design. Experience with a Data Modeling tool such as ER/Studio, Erwin or similar.
- Ability to work with business users and translate requirements into data models.
- Knowledgeable with programming in Transact-SQL (Stored Procedures/Functions).
- Expert in MS SQL Server.
- Experience with database performance optimization.
- Firm understanding of XML
- Project experience must include excellent proficiency with OLAP cubes and their implementation
Pluses:
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments (equities/FX/fixed income/credit/commodities)
- Certified DBA (MS SQL Server)
- ETL experience (Informatica)
- Enterprise Reporting Tool experience (Business Objects/Microsoft)
